Servicemen that survived combat durring World War II were often very ordinary people, caught up in extraordinary events. It is also true that these people were often just lucky to survive and could only tell their stories because of that good fortune.

Len and Robbie were two such people, involved in conflicts such as The Battle of France, Dunkirk, The Blitz, Normandy Landings, Falaise and Singapore.
How they managed to end up in all these places and events seems incredible, but when you read their stories you will realise that surviving a battle often meant that they were just posted on to the next military operation.
